Rama Central P.S. is a Simcoe County District School Board JK-8 school, located on County Road #169 South of Washago.  The school is set in one of the most beautiful school-yards in Simcoe County.  But that’s not the only thing that makes Rama Central such a special school…  It is a school in which the SCDSB character attributes are practiced by all staff and students.   It is a school in which student achievement is emphasized throughout all grades and subject areas. It is a school that offers a variety of extracurricular activities including instrumental music, athletics, both competitive and house league, and several clubs so that every student can find his/her niche and become involved.   It is a school in which visitors and volunteers feel welcome and are appreciated for their contributions to the school community.   It is a school in which a committed School Council works hard to support programming and special events.   It is a school in which all stakeholders: custodians, educational assistants, teachers, and the school’s secretary, dedicate every day to the educational, social and emotional well-being of the students in our safe school.  It is a school in which students know and appreciate their bus drivers.   It is a school in which students demonstrate respect for adults, and each other, every day they’re here.   I am so proud to be the principal of such a wonderful school.   Shelley Clark, Principal       "WEATHER ZONES" FOR BUS CANCELLATIONS    In order to limit the number of bus cancellations in the event of inclement weather, the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium has divided the County into four "Inclement Weather Zones." If weather is severe in only part of the County, then the weather zones will come into effect. The media will announce: "All School Buses have been cancelled in [NAME OF ZONE]." RAMA CENTRAL IS LOCATED IN THE "NORTH SIMCOE COUNTY" WEATHER ZONE. If weather is severe throughout Simcoe County, then the media will announce: "All School Buses in Simcoe County are cancelled." Please note: Schools are open for learning when buses are cancelled, unless stated otherwise.     SCHOOL INFLUENZA RESPONSE    When a suspected case of a student having flu-like symptoms arises in school, we will place that child in a quiet place away from other students. Parents/caregivers will be called to arrange to pick up the child. Please have a plan in place should your child become ill at school and need to go home. Students are to remain home until symptoms subside.
